In order to simultaneously protect civilians, to manage the transition from stabilisation and peace consolidation, and to support actors towards longer term nation building and progressive reconfiguration of the Mission each year millions of people in the DRC benefit from our support through projects and services coordinated in concert with the Government of the DRC, UN agencies, other MONUSCO sections and the Force, as well as other local authorities. Our activities straddle the divide of both short-term protection activities and longer-term development dedicated to conflict resolution, restructuring of civil society organisations and genuine state viability in the DRC’s eleven provinces through the use of a conflict sensitive approaches and indicators.
